Missionaries

We lived full time in the Northern Territory from 1985 for 30 years, teaching and supporting various AIM churches and small fellowship groups on land claims and cattle stations in the Barkly Tableland area. For 12 years we ran the AIM Bible College in Humpty Doo.

Since moving to Cootamundra in 2015, we have continued to provide teaching, Bible studies and Sunday School material for the Canteen Creek community.

Having lived for so long in the NT, we continue to have contact with many people using telephone, text messaging and email for counselling and encouragement.

Our primary role these days is to translate the Bible into appropriate English for people in the Barkly Tableland area in the Northern Territory. To do this, we travel from our base in Cootamundra NSW, to stay in Canteen Creek for 3-4 months each year, so that we can check our translation with the people there.

The checkers we have love helping us to do this work. When the people are happy with the text, we send it to be checked by Professional Consultants before being published by Bible Society Australia. We have 12 books in various stages of production, with the Barkly Bible – Genesis being published in 2024. This is now available from Koorong.

This work is vital as a lot of the centres and communities don’t have missionaries/Bible teachers and the English Bibles that are available are not easily understood.

We ask you to pray that others may join this team and that all the praise goes to God.

PLEASE PRAY
We would like people to pray that the Barkly Bible is widely accepted, read and used to encourage people to grow in their faith.

We would also ask that we can get as much of the Bible done as we can before we get too old, and that others might join our team.
